Purchasing Rs2005

Hi, RS2000 was a separate from SQLServer2000 and a free download, only
requirement being you must have a SQLServer 2000 lic. For RS 2005 it looks
like its bundled up with SQLServer 2005. Must I purchase SQLServer 2005 in
order to upgrade to RS 2005, we don't wish to upgrade from SQL2000 just
Reporting Services. In there not a separate download and Licence for RS2005.

Since we would like to do the same change (keep SQL2000 and upgrade from
RS2000 to RS2005), is only (1) one SQL2005 license necessary since we already
have licenses for SQL2000?

>>|||Bruce, I am like Jack. I own SQL2000 and use RS2000 but would like to
upgrade to RS2005 without purchasing SQL2005. But it looks like I have to.
Next question is, I only have one server, RS is on the same box as SQL Server
database and I own SQL Server2000 Standard Edition-1 Processor License.
Would I have to purchase the SQL2005 that costs about $5k or is there a
cheaper version I could purchase that would give me rights to use RS2005 on

publishing downloading report model

Hi friends

is it possible download a report model (.smdl) from a report server?

and also how to publish a report model?

i know how to do this from report manager page but i need to do this programmatically (from C#).

thanks for that . i finally able to upload a report model using "createModel" but after uploading i still need to set its data source manually from report manager page to get it work!

as you know "createModel" has parameter called "property[]" ,can i use it to set data source ? if so how can i please ?

or you said i could use "setItemDatasources" but i cant figure out how to use this one ?

actually am not overwriting with different model. first i download what already there ,make few changes and re upload the model.

when we upload a model from report manager page ,as you know, there is an option to overwrite , i wonder if we can do same thing programmatically ?
